About JSTU
Welcome to the official website of Jessore Science & Technology University (JSTU). The JSTU is one of the most recent government-financed public universities for higher studies in Bangladesh. This is the fourth public university in Khulna Division and the first public university in Jessore district. It was established in 2007. About 440 undergraduate students are being admitted each year in twelve departments under four faculties.
Jessore Science & Technology University started functioning from the 2008-2009 session. It is expected to achieve excellence in higher education, research and development in science and technology. The first batch students of all departments were started from 10 June 2009 in the JSTU campus, located 12 kilometers away from the Jessore city, with 205 students in the following four departments: Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Environmental Science & Health Management (ESHM), Microbiology (MB) and Fisheries and Marine Bioscience (FMB).
In 2009, JSTU added Nutrition & Food Technology (NFT), Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE), Chemical Engineering (ChE), Petroleum & Mining Engineering (PME), Genetic Engineering & Bio-technology (GEBT). In 2010, Pharmacy was added. In the year of 2011, two new departments, Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS), have been launched.
JSTU Academic Building
A five-storied academic building is located at the middle-southern portion of JSTU campus. All the department offices, class rooms and laboratories are situated in this building. The departments under the faculty of Engineering and Technology occupy the ground, first and second (partial) floors. Whereas, departments under the Biological Science and Technology are found at the second and third (partial) floors and departments under the faulty of Applied Science and Technology and Physical Education Language and Ethical Studies are available at third floor of academic building.
JSTU Administrative Building
This five-storied building is probably the finest infrastructure of JSTU built at the center of the JSTU campus. All administrative and other offices are placed in this building. The central library is also temporarily placed in this building.
JSTU TSC & Cafeteria
This is a two-storied building, located at west-eastern corner of JSTU campus. Cafeteria is at ground floor and TSC at 1st floor. Foods are available here for both the students and staff of JSTU. Apart from the common snacks and drinks, breakfast and lunch can also be found here. Anyone may get rice, pulse, vegetables, eggs of chicken/duck, fish, chicken, mutton at an affordable price.
JSTU Dormitory
The JSTU dormitory is located at south-eastern corner of JSTU campus. This four-storied dormitory is available for the teaching staff of JSTU. Around 25 teaching staff and their family member/s are getting their accommodation here.
JSTU Central Mosque
The central mosque is located at the west side of the JSTU campus for the prayers of the Muslims. Everyday students and staff of JSTU say their prayer on regular basis here.
JSTU Auditorium/Gallery
A beautiful auditorium/gallery is located at the ground floor of the academic building. Special events like seminars, conferences, cultural programs, discussion, meetings etc. generally take place here.
VC’s Residence
This building of glorious architectural design is located at the middle-eastern portion of the JSTU campus. This building is for accommodation of the honorable Vice-Chancellor of the JSTU.
Banks and Post Office
A branch of the official bank of JSTU “Agrani Bank Limited” is located at the ground floor of the JSTU Administrative building. ATM booth of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) is also available in JSTU campus for online banking facilities for both students and personnel of JSTU. The Post Office of JSTU branch of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is also available in JSTU campus and located at the ground floor of JSTU Administrative building.
